HOW TO SERVE CAVA

The correct taste of cava depends mainly on two factors: the glass and the temperature.

THE GLASS
To choose the right glass when serving cava it is very important, cava taste is different depending on what kind of glass you are drinking. The glass should be very thin, absolute transparet and totally colourless. Only this way you can apreciate the color of a cava.
There are glasses with any shape, but the best ones to be used for cava are the ones that have a flute shape.
Whilst drinking cava you should hold the glass by its foot, this way you won't heat the cava.

THE SERVICE TEMPERATURE
The service temperature is very important because this is what decides on the perception we have of its fragance and taste (its bouquet).
It is necessari to know that cava, the same as wine, do not accept sudden temperature changes. That's why cava needs to achieve its service temperature via a slow and gradual way. The best way to serve it is using an ice cube cover.
The temperature service should be between 6º and 8º. We recommend 6º because once the cava is served, and generally all wines, the get heated.

WHEN UNCORKING THE BOTTLE
When extracting the helmet, you should never do sudden movements with the bottle.
When uncorking the bottle, we should incline the bottle about 45º. Turn the cork untill it gets uncorked and then the carbon dioxide is when gets away gently.

CAVA CONSERVATION
Once the cava is out from Caves then it no longer needs to be resting. The difference with wines that improve their quality by keeping them for a certain time (years), the cava can be drunk at once.
To conserve cava you need to be aware of storing the cava in a dark and fresh place, at constant temperature. A good seggestion is to keep the cava inside the box and drink it before 12 months.

CAVA ON THE TABLE
When we talk about gastronomy, dishes and wines, the cava achieves an exclusive character in front of any other wine. You can drink cava with all meals, starters, main course, desserts.
